Unposted Speed Limit
How fast are you able to drive in Oklahoma City if the speed limit is not posted? Hi, I’m Oklahoma City Attorney Aaron Easton, and that’s the question we have before us today. And really, the answer to that is pretty simple, and we can find that by looking at the Oklahoma City Municipal Code, Section 32-166, which is titled General Speed Limits, and it says no vehicle shall be driven at a speed greater than 25 miles per hour upon any street or highway within the city, with some exceptions for emergency vehicles and, of course, posted speed limits.
So that’s the answer. If you don’t see a speed limit posted in the City of Oklahoma City, you’re allowed to drive 25 miles per hour. But if you have a question specific to you about this or something else, you’d probably be best speaking with an attorney privately and confidentially.
